Mercedes-Benz has released images of their latest race car treatment to their SLS AMG line of cars. The GT3 modifications are being released to commemorate Mercedes 1952 victory at the Carrera Panamericana with a modified 300 SL. The GT3 will be sold in very limited quantities and only to specific customers, therefore no price has been released. The Mercedes-Benz AMG GT3 will debut at the New York Auto Show, perhaps with a price tag attached for the elite to ogle.
The last supercar to come out of Mercedes-Benz was the SLR, a joint-design effort with McLaren that left many scratching their heads. After all, Mercedes-Benz has always been about refinement and class, so what’s with the off-the-wall styling of the SLR? Yes, it was a technological marvel, but it looked like something a 6th grader would draw in his notebook. Mercedes-Benz recently introduced a new E-Class, and that means that an AMG sport sedan version couldn’t be far behind. The 2010 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG will hit showrooms in November 2009 and represents some very welcome advancements over the previous model.
