The Mazda6 was first introduced in the middle of 2002 as a competitor against the segment-dominating Honda Accord and Toyota Camry. Initial reaction to the Mazda6 was fairly positive, but there were a few criticisms, namely that it lack sufficient power and had less interior space than its competitors.
