
With gas prices forecast to hit $4 a gallon by the middle of the summer, it would seem that the introduction of a new Hummer would be met with something less than unbridled enthusiasm, but the debut of the 2009 Hummer H3T is causing a lot of excitement among fans of the super sized SUVs.

But the 2009 Hummer H3T isn’t the small truck that the world first saw in 2004 and it isn’t the smaller H3 SUV with a new truck bed. The brand new 2009 Hummer H3T is larger, but it carries the same engine choices as last year’s H3 SUV. The engines available include a 3.7 liter I-5 engine with a four speed automatic transmission or a five speed manual transmission. The high end H3T Alpha will boast more power in the form of a V8 that generates 300 hp and 320 pound feet of torque when paired with a five speed manual transmission. The tow rating for the H3T Alpha is 5900 pounds.
The 2009 Hummer H3T is made for going off road. It has a full time four wheel drive as part of the standard equipment package. Skid plates are included to offer more protection to the undercarriage. It is perfect to haul grown up toys like ATVs and motorcycles. Hummer has a full line of accessories that will help store and secure outdoor fun accessories.
Production for the 2009 Hummer H3T will begin in the third quarter of 2008. No sticker price has been set for the 2009 Hummer H3T. The 2009 Hummer H3 retails for up to $30,000, but with an expanded wheel base and increase cargo handling capabilities, the 2009 Hummer H3T will likely retail for at least $5000 more.

As nice as the 2009 Hummer H3T is, who can afford to drive these puppies with the price of gas the way it is today. I’m guessing the H3T is one is for the rich and famous and not the poor masses. Still would love to own one!
