In 2010 Chrysler will cease production of the Jeep Commander due to slow sales, poor fuel economy, and not so flattering reviews. With no plans for a second generation of the Commander it leaves the door wide open for the Jeep Grande Cherokee to step in and take its place. A long-wheelbase seven passenger version is planned for the next gen Cherokee.
